Why does not copper liberate hydrogen gas on reacting with dilute sulphuric acid?​

Answer:

Copper is placed below hydrogen in the reactivity series as we know. Therefore, it cannot lose electrons to hydrogen ions of the acid called dilute sulphuric acid. Hydrogen gas is not evolved when copper reacts with dilute sulphuric acid.
