Why does not copper liberate hydrogen on reacting with dilute carbonic acid?​

Answer:

Copper is placed below hydrogen in the reactivity series as we know. Therefore, it cannot lose electrons to hydrogen ions of the acid called dilute sulphuric acid. Hydrogen gas is not evolved when Copper reacts with dilute carbonic acid.
