Why does not distilled water conduct electricity?

current is the flow of charges. So for the electricity to form , there must be flow of charges. In distilled water, almost many impurities, ions, and all are removed through the purification process like distillation . So , in distilled water there wont be any kinda charges to produce electricity. 
So the distilled water does not conduct electricity
