Protons do move. But they’re only moving in battery acid. Acid solutions are conductive because the +H positive hydrogen ions have high mobility. Stop and think: a hydrogen atom with one electron missing is called what? It’s called “a proton.” When you see discussions of batteries and +H ions, they’re actually discussing proton-flows.
