why does orographic rainfall is concentrated on windward slope of mountain ranges

orographic rainfall is the type of rainfall which occurs when moisture laden winds are unable to cross a mountain. the clouds (of cumulimbous type) rise along the mountain and when they completely saturate, they give rain to the windward side of the mountain.

the leeward side remains dry.
