Pyrogens are the chemicals responsible for raising temperature ...they flow through bloodstream, binds to the hypothalamus which regulates body temperature..when we are ill the rise temperature usually help to kill bacteria and other pathogens to some extent but if it raise too much beyond the normal range ...antipyretics drug should be given to the patient...otherwise it can be fatal for the patient
