temperature rises when we are ill because your body is fighting the illness which causes an enormous rise of our body temperature.

Hey friend
We become ill and sick, when some pathogens enter into our body, those pathogens affects our body in such a way that our immune system becomes weak making us unhealthy, that's why there's an increase in our body temperature which we call it as fever. And as there's an increase in our body temperature above normal level, it fights off the pathogens disturbing our body.
Thanks
