why does oxygen is neccesary for complete oxidation of glucose


learnmore: oxygen is needed for complete oxidation of food so that it can give co2 and h2o and atp. During lack of o2 water is not form during the oxidation of food, that is the necessary component as product.

in respiration, the energy from the oxidation of glucose and the reduction ofoxygen is captured in ATP. Organic molecules that have plenty of hydrogen are rich in energetic electrons that release their potential energy when they fall closer to theoxygen
