Why does oxygenated blood repels when brought near a strong magnet?​

Hemoglobin molecules that contain iron tend to repel from the magnet when attached to oxygen. In contrast, oxygen-depleted hemoglobin molecules are attracted slightly by magnets.

Oxygen is covalently bound to haemoglobin.

So, when it is deoxygenated , free electrons are there making the haemoglobin paramagnetic.

But oxygenated haemoglobin is diamagnetic due to lack of free electrons. Hence it is repelled
