Why does passenger jumping out of rapidly moving bus fall forward with his face downwards

It is due to the inertia of motion. The passenger is moving with the velocity of the bus/train/cart/tram/conveyor belt. When s/he gets off , the feet suddenly come to rest but the body keeps moving forward due to inertia. This produces a torque which causes the passenger to fall forward with the face downwards.

A man getting down on road from a running bus  falls forward with a his face downward because  due to inertia of motion upper part of body  continues to be in motion in forward direction  while feet come to rest as soon as they touch the  road.
