Plant has larger vacoules than animals it is a fact. Vacoules mainly has two functions first they provide shape and turbidity to the cell and they store water for the metabolic activities of the cell. In plants two main metabolic activities are respiration and photosynthesis. In photosynthesis water molecules are broken by sun light in photosystem 2 and this way water direct involve in it so water demand is more in plants than animals.other reason like water transport in plant also connected with evaporation so requirement of water more so size of vacoules is lager in plants.

  1. Vacuoles are fluid filled sac like structures.
  2. In a newly formed plant cell, the vacuoles are small.
  3. As the cell becomes old, these vacuoles, fuse to form a single large vacuole.
  4. In mature plant cells the might occupy almost the entire cell space.
