Why does plant have low energy needs?

Plants want energy only for their growth not for anything else so, they need energy in very less quantity......

happy806gill: Because they Do Not have to move so energy is used only for metabolic needs such as cell devision , water and mineral transport etc.

As they don't move one place to another so they don't required more energy.

They don't perform external activities like animals so they required only less energy.
