◼Plants are autotrophs which produce their own food by the process of photosynthesis whereas animals are heterotrophs which directly or indirectly depend on autotrophs.

◼Plants have their food in the form which is suitable for them but, animals need to breakdown their food into a suitable form

◼Therefore, animals need a digestive system but plants do not!

plants do not need digestive system because plants contain green coloured pigment called chlorophyll. they prepare their own food in the presence of sublight and chlorophyll using carbon dioxide from air by process called Photosynthesis
