Polyester fibre is greatly suitable for making dress materials because they are wrinkle free which is the major requirement of the clothing industry.  

These molecules are extremely wrinkle resistant and durable. The texture polyesters feel like cotton and flat polyesters feel like silk which makes them more suitable for the textile industry.

Most of the types of polyesters are non-biodegradable whereas one type of polyesters made by monomers such as the polylactic acids degrade when it comes into contact with water into lactides and later to lactic acid.
