why does pressure increase with the depth of water column

since gravity is directly proportional to mass of object hence at the increaseing in depth the mass is also increases and led to increase in pressure...

Pressure exerted by a liquid increases with depth, deep water, there is more water piled up which causes the pressure to be very high at the bottom.....
