Prospero enters into the play with the command: "Be collected." He tells Miranda not to be shocked, there's no harm done, in spite of the spectacle he's created in the tempest. This could well be applied to all of the magic Prospero does throughout the play—it's spectacular, but it isn't malicious or to be feared.
