Why does rbc contain red pigment Haemoglobin

by haemoglobin our blood colour is red.

Hemoglobin is essential for the transport of oxygen and carbon di-oxide which the Red Blood Corpuscles are responsible for and thus contains the red pigment hemoglobin.
