Why does resistance increase in series and decrease in parallel?

Answer:

In parallel connection the charge flowing from the source when it arrives at a node it hase the charge of travelling through any branch. This results in a large number of charges flowing from the source in unit time,the resistance decreases. That's why the resistance increases in series and decreases in parallel.
