why does respiration considered as an exothermic reaction

Yes , respiration is considered as a exothermic reaction because exothermic reaction is defined as the releasing of heat along with the products. Hence the equation of respiration is :- [C6₆H₁₂O6₆ + O₂ → CO₂ + H₂O + energy ] . Therfore in this equation heat is released along with the products in the form of energy.
