Why does self pollination. Not lead to seed formation in self incompatible species?

Answer:

Because self incompatible species rejects the pollen tube of its own plant to grow or if it is grown then it not grows fully so the male gamete of same plant is unable to fertilize the female gamete .

And then the plant prefer foreign pollen tube for the formation of pollen tube containing male gamete and fertilize the female gamete .
