Why does shearing not hurt the sheep ? Why are the sheep washed with an antiseptic lotion after shearing ?

Shearing does not hurt the sheep because it is done by trained persons and the sheep has an extra layer of dead skin which is sheared. Sheep is washed by antiseptic lotion to prevent infection
