Shylock recognise that he is invited not out of "love" but only because they desire to flatter him because he is the one landing them money.he determine therefore to go in hates,so he can benefit from the"prodical"or wasteful Christians that he despite soo much.

SHYLOCK ACCEPTED THE INVITATION BECAUSE HE WANTED TO SPEND ANTONIOS MONEY BY ENJOYING THE DINNER ARRANGED BY BASSANIO. HE REFUSED TO ACCEPT THE INVITATION AT FIRST BECAUSE ANTONIO WAS A CHRISTIAN AND HE WAS A JEW. HE ALSO HATED ANTONIO.
