why does Sky appear red at sunrise and sunset​

Sun appear red during sun rise and sunset because of refraction of light.

Here when we see the sun it is not actually there we see, it goes below the horizon and only red light can refract at such angle because of its high wavelength.

(other light rays get scattered in surrounding)

hence, we see red sun during sunrise and sunset.
