Sky appears blue due to the phenomena " Scattering of light ".
Since, blue colour has minimum / shorter wavelength.
Hence, it scatters maximum by the tiny molecules of the atmosphere resulting in blue colour .

THIS IS BECAUSE OF SCATTERING OF LIGHT WHEN WHITE LIGHT SPLIT THEN THE WAVELENGTH OF BLUE COLOR IS MEDIUM FROM ANY OTHER COLORS ..
SPEED OF BLUE COLOR IS LESS BECAUSE WAVELENGTH IS SHORT HENCE FREQUENCY IS MORE
