why does soap not form lather in hard water?

beacause hard water has a combination of calcium and magnesium and also magnese so from that type of reactants soap cant form lather in hard water

This is because hard water has impurities like calcium, magnesium and manganese. Soap doesn't react with these impurities to form lather. Hope this answer was helpful.
