⏩Solids melts on heating bcoz in solids intermolecular spaces are less and attractive forces are high. On heating heats absorbed by the solid helps it to break the forces. The heat which is absorbed is not visible thats why we said it latent heat of fusion where solid is converted to liquid at atmospheric temperatures..

the solid change into liquid by the process of heating. when solid is heating its temperature increases. kinetic energy of its particles will also increases and they will start vibrating about their positions. the forces of attraction between the particles is overcome by the heat the particles will leave the position and start moving about randomly.
