why does sound does not travel through vacuum

They can also feel the waves. Soundcannot travel through a vacuum. Avacuum is an area without any air, like space. So sound cannot travel throughspace because there is no matter forthe vibrations to work in.

We know that sound needs a material medium to travel but in vaccum there is no material medium present through which sound waves propagate. That's why sound does not travel through vaccum.
