Sound travels faster in summer than winter. Because during winter, air becomes cold and cold air is denser , Denser air is a good conductive of sound and sound does not travel faster during winter but rather it just sounds louder because of the good conductive denser air. Sound travel faster during summer because particles gain kinetic energy which enables them to move faster.

Hope this helps.

THANKS FOR THE QUESTION
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

SOUND TRAVELS FASTER IN SUMMER THAN IN WINTERS AND BECAUSE THE KINETIC ENERGY OF AIR DURING THE SUMMER RISE OF DUE TO INCREASE IN TEMPERATURE HOWEVER IN WINTERS BECAUSE OF THE COLD WEATHER THE KINETIC ENERGY OF AIR DECREASES.

AND AS WE KNOW THE PROPAGATION OF SOUND AS FASTER IN A MEDIUM WITH HIGHER KINETIC ENERGY OF THE SOUND TRAVELS AT A FASTER SPEED IN SUMMER THAN IN WINTER.

HOPE IT HELPS
