Sound travel faster on a rainy day than on dry day. This is due to the following reason:

The speed of sound will increase with increase in the humidity in the air. Because the speed of the sound in inversely proportional to square root of the density of the air. And the density of the dry air is more then the of the humid air during the rainy day. it travels faster on rainy days.

....since sound travels faster in water tahn air the speed of sound in aur increases on a rainy day.
