In solids the molecules are closely packed .this means that they have less space to vibrate and hit other molecules earlier .So the sound travels fastest in solids.

Sound travels due to collision of molecules.
More the molecule is,more the collision takes place and the sound thus produced in the medium is denser.
As in solids more molecules colloid to produce denser sound.
