why does stars twinkle​

Due too atmospheric refraction..

The amount of light entering differs and they appear to twinkle...

As stars are considered as point source....

Answer:

There are different atmospheric layers.

All layers have dif. densities ,temperature and refractive index. The light ray from stars fluctuates and so we see them twinkling
