why does steam cause more serve burn than a boiling water

it is because steam is formed after boling ,,the particles of steam has more temp. and hingh energy than boling water.It posseses latent heat of vapourisation.
so steam causes more burns than boiling water.

Stream has more energy than boiling water. It posses latent haeat of vaporization.Therefore, burns produced by stream are more severe than a boiling water
