The local times of places which lie on different meridians are bound to differ. The sun rises two hours earlier in Arunachal Pradesh as compared to Gujarat in the west. This causes a time lag of two hours from Gujarat to Arunachal Pradesh. To avoid confusion due to time differences and to have a standard time for reference, the time along the meridian (82° 30' E) passing through Mirzapur (Uttar Pradesh) has been taken as the standard time for the entire country. This is why the watches show the same time.

This is because of different longitude and Same IST (Indian Standard Time).

-Arunachal Pradesh and Gujarat are located at a different longitudes. But, Both Longitudes have same Time.

As, Gujarat and Arunachal Pradesh have different longitudes, So it is found that, the Sun rises earlier in Arunachal Pradesh as compared to Gujarat. We know that, The Time of each location in a specific country is same. Either it's Longitudes are different or any there is far distance between them. Therefore, Sunrises earlier in Arunachal Pradesh due to their different Longitudes.

-Gujarat lies between 68° E and 74° E longitude.

-Arunachal Pradesh is located between 91.20° E and 97.30° E longitude

-Arunachal Pradesh is located at Eastern part of India. It means that, there will be very Huge distance in time.

Reason for time difference:

1) India is located at 30° longitude. (Time will be same everywhere even there are different longitudes).

2) There is 30° longitudes between Arunachal pradesh and Gujarat.

3) 30°* 4 mins = 120 mins

4) 120 Mins is equal to 2 Hours.

Hence, There is a 2 hours time different between Gujarat and Arunachal Pradesh but watches shows same time.
