why does temperature remain constant during fusion or vaporisation?

You can experience the lowered temperature when water evaporates into gaseous molecules. Thus, more heat energy is needed to cause other molecules to escape. This keeps the liquid at a temperature slightly below that of the boiling point.

temperature does not change as when the matter is heated, its uppermost layer gets heated up and breaks the force of attraction with other particles and they change their state... leaving the lower levels of the matter cool. thus even after heating, temp. does now change..... hope this helped. please mark it as brainliest . ask for any further queries
