Heya !!

The temperature remains constant during the change in state of matter because the energy supplied is used to break the force of attraction between the particles of the matter. The heat energy absorbed in this case is called as the latent heat and the temperature supplied is equal to this latent heat produced by the substance.

For instance,

For converting ice into water, the temperature remains constant as the energy supplied is used up for breaking the bonds or force of attraction of particles of ice.
In this way, ice converts into water with constant temperature.

Thank you !!!

Ans. Temperature remain constant during the change in state for a substance because while the change lot of heat is used in the change of the state of matter. Until all the particles of the given sample of matter is turned to another state the heat energy will be used to produce the necessary energy to make the particles to gain energy for changing the state of matter , for this the needed energy will be not there to heat up the given sample of matter.....
