Here temperatures are somewhat cooler (less direct Sun and less evaporation) than those found on say the south-facing slopes in the Northern Hemisphere. ... So that in this example, if the Sun is directly overhead the Equator, light will be visible 90 degrees to each pole.

sun rays stands direct to equator,as well extreme temperature takes place.But when we go from equator to north pole or south pole the sun rays will slantly and low temperature.
