The author defined the sanctuary as a place where man are passive and the rest of the natire is active. But this general definition is too absolute for any special case. The mere fact that man has to protect a sanctuary does away with hispurely passive attitude. so author used too absolute for his previous definition as natire has its own sanctuaries where man either did not go or only as a tool using animal in comparitively small numbers. Thus man is passive as exploit the balance of nature. Therefore it can be said that first definition of a sanctuary is too absolute.
