why does the balloon burst if too much air is blown into it

The expansion is due to the elasticity of rubber. As we keep blowing, the airpressure builds up inside the balloon,and the rubber expands to its maximum limits. If we blow again, theballoon won't be able to expand but the air that we blows in need space still, and the balloon bursts.

The balloon bursts because as more air is pushed into it, the elastic or rubber is forced to stretch more and more, eventually making the substance stretch so much it cannot hold the tension anymore.
