why does the bond length changes in sp2 hybridization to sp3 hybridization?

bond length change from SP2 to SP3 as number of bonds change.greater the number of bonds smaller is the bond length
order of bond length
single bond>double>triple bond

Covalent: how could u say bond length depends upon sigma bond or pi bond here...sp2 and sp3 both are sigma bondedly connected
sristhi23: here i am talking about order of bonds .ie..total no.of bonds sp2= double bond and sp3= single bond
