Why does the Buddha say you should stop wanting and enjoying things?

because if we want more and more things our desire will never end and we may become greedy and take everything for granted.

because we humans are not satisfied even we have everything which others don't have it is jus simple psychology for example if we are poor we want to attain middle class status if are attain middle class status then we will think to become rich even if we become rich we are not satisfied we want to become very rich like wise we will not be satisfied till the end so thank God for what you have and lead a happy life that was Buddha's teaching a satisfied man will lead a happy life
