• The chimney of the hurricane is completely made out of glass and we know that glass is extremely fragile.
• When, the chimney becomes hot, the uneven expansion occurs in the glass body of the chimney due to the thermal expansion.
• When we suddenly pour cold water, the temperature of the glass chimney instantly goes down and uneven contraction of the glass starts taking place.
• This fast and uneven contraction, is intolerable by the fragile glass and it breaks.
