when iron nail is dipped into copper sulphate solution iron vigorously reacts with the solution and forms iron sulphate and releases copper metal.
iron reacts with the copper sulphate solution because it is more reactive then copper
secondly when iron reacts it changes the colour of copper sulphate solution into brownish colour

When an iron nail is placed to the copper sulphate solution then the iron displaces copper from copper sulphate solution and forms iron sulphate which is green in colour
Fe + CuSO4 ------> FeSO4 + Cu
Therefore , the blue colour of copper sulphate solution faders and green colour appears
