Why does the colour of copper sulphate solution change when an iron nail is dipped in it ? Writr two observations.

If an iron nail is dipped in the copper sulphate solution then iron displaces copper from the copper sulphate because iron is more reactive than copper. Therefore the colour of the copper sulphate solution changes....

When an iron nail is dipped in copper sulphate solution , the displacement reaction takes place . The colour of copper sulphate solution fades due to the formation of light green solution of iron sulphate .

Observations :-

♥ The initial blue colour of copper sulphate solution is changed to light green colour of iron sulphate

♥ The initial silver colour of iron nail is changed to reddish-brown colour due to coating of copper metal on the nail .
