Why does the colour of copper sulphate solution change when ab iron nail is kept immersed in it?

The intensity of the blue colour solution that is copper sulphate solution decreases and iron (Fe) becomes brownish in colour due to deposition of copper metal. Therefore, iron displaces copper from its solution and becomes iron sulphate solution which is green in colour.
The equation for this is-
Fe(s) + CuSo4(aq) ---- FeSo4(aq) + Cu(s)
