why does the cord of an electric heater not glow while heating elements does..??

heating element is a resistor while the cord is a conductor
that is the cord has lower resistance than the element
both have same current flowing through it
according to joules law heat dissipated is current squared times resistance
glow is due to the heat dissipated
so the element glows and not the cord
