Why does the cord of an electric oven not glow while the heating element does?

It has high resistivity , so it does not melt. The cord of the electric heater is a good conductor of electricity so it does not get heated up and also does not glow. The heating element of an electric heater is a resistor. ... As current flows through the heating element,it becomes too hot and glows red.
