Why does the density of gas in a hot air balloon decrease as the gas is heated?

The density of gas decreases when it is heated . It is because when we heat gas the molecules started to become expand . They started to be light .

As air is heated, it becomes less dense than the surrounding cooler air. The less dense hot air has enough lifting power to cause the balloon to float and rise into the air
