Why does the diameter of the latitudes become smaller from the equator to each pole?​

The circles of latitudes will be smaller as they go from the equator to the poles because these imaginary lines run parallel along the equator and as we advance towards the poles the perimeter or circumference decreases leading to a decrease in the size of the latitudes.

The diameter of the latitudes become smaller from the Equator to each pole because of the bulge of its size in and near the Equator and the decreased length at the poles, Thats why each circle of latitudes gets smaller as it moves polewards to the North and South.
