why does the distance from the sea effect the temperature of a place

The sea affects the climate of aplace. Coastal areas are cooler and wetter than inland areas. Clouds form when warm air from inland areas meets cool air from the sea. The centre of continents are subject to a large range oftemperatures.

distance from sea is known as continentality. and it affect the climate of a place because it has a moderating influence on it. and when we are away from sea we will face extreme climatic conditions .
