The earth does not rotate ITSELF!
first off, the earth as we know of it today was separated from a giant rock in a collision. Due to angular momentum, it started rotating. think of throwing a round object with a little force on the floor, it rotates! the same way the earth started rotating.
now newton's first law says that a body in motion will remain in motion unless an external force is applied on it. In space there is no other force than gravitational force. in higher classes you will study that even gravitational force is very less in space. so the earth keeps on moving. and it will keep moving until an external force stops it or it collides with some other object.
